In celebration of Give Miami Day, Shake-A-Leg Miami is proud to present a floating masterpiece—an accessible houseboat beautifully decorated by the world-renowned artist, Romero Britto. This special vessel, adorned with Britto’s signature vibrant colors and patterns, is a symbol of unity, inclusion, and the joy of Miami’s culture and waters. It will provide universal access to Biscayne Bay, welcoming individuals of all abilities to enjoy the serenity and inspiration that the water brings.
The boat was generously donated by Ruth Mitchell, whose late husband was renowned author Carleton Mitchell.
This one-of-a-kind boat is not only a work of art but also a tool for community engagement. Designed to participate in boat parades and special events, the Britto boat will help us reach more people and invite them to join our mission at Shake-A-Leg Miami. With its eye-catching colors and powerful message, it will attract new friends and supporters, inviting all of Miami to experience the therapeutic and connecting power of the bay.
We invite you to join us for the grand unveiling on Thursday, November 21, at 5:00 PM, where we’ll celebrate this vibrant addition to our fleet. Let’s come together to honor Romero Britto’s incredible contribution and our shared commitment to making Biscayne Bay accessible for everyone. We can’t wait to see you there as we set sail for an inspiring future!
