It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s... Kat Girl! On July 7th Kat Girl made a stop by SALM to interact and engage with our Legger’s during storytime. Kat Girl is known for her magnificent books and stories centered around children with disabilities. Many of our campers enjoy their time with her because the characters in her book face similar challenges to our Leggers. Being able to hear how these characters overcome their obstacles is empowering and gives our children the courage to do the same. Kat Girl is no stranger to the SALM family as she has been a part of our camper’s emotional development for years now. During the reading of “The Adventures of Kat Girl” students embarked on amazing adventures as they used their imaginations to explore and navigate themselves through the story. They had many questions and alternatives to what they would have done if they were in one of those character’s shoes.
